About This Book
Anne Enright's eighth novel follows three generations of women in an Irish family, haunted by the celebrated poet Phil McDaragh — a Philip Larkin-like figure whose acclaimed verse about nature and desire conceals predatory behaviour. The novel explores how women carry the damage done by men who are celebrated. It won the Rathbones Folio Prize for Fiction in 2024 and the Encore Award.
