About This Book
Cardiff, 1952. Mahmood Mattan, a Somali seaman, is a small-time thief and family man living in Tiger Bay. When a Jewish shopkeeper is found murdered, Mahmood is arrested despite his innocence. The novel is based on the true story of the wrongful execution of Mahmood Mattan in 1952—one of the last men to be hanged in Cardiff.
