About This Book
Seven linked stories follow Trelawny—the son of Jamaican immigrants growing up in Miami—and his family through the 1980s and 1990s, confronting questions of race, belonging, and identity as Hurricane Andrew approaches. A powerful debut about what it means to be Black in America when you are also neither fully American nor fully Jamaican.
