About the Author
Kate DiCamillo is an American children's author born in Philadelphia in 1964. She won the Newbery Medal twice—for *The Tale of Despereaux* (2004) and for *Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures* (2014). She is one of the most beloved children's authors working today, also known for *Because of Winn-Dixie* and *The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane*.
