About the Author

Siobhan Dowd was an Irish author whose posthumously celebrated young adult novels, including the Carnegie Medal-winning Bog Child (2009), earned her lasting recognition. She founded the charity Siobhan Dowd Trust to bring books to disadvantaged children. She died of cancer in 2007 at the age of 47.
