About This Book
Set during World War II, the novel follows Marie-Laure, a blind French girl who flees Paris with her father carrying a legendary diamond, and Werner, a German orphan who joins the Hitler Youth and eventually becomes a radar operator. Their paths converge in the bombed city of Saint-Malo on the coast of Brittany.
