Ferguson is born in Newark, New Jersey on 3 March 1947 and from that moment his life will take four completely different directions. Auster follows four versions of the same boy—with different families, different fortunes, different loves—growing up in 1950s and 1960s America. Shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2017.
