About Tamsyn Muir
Tamsyn Muir is a New Zealand author known for the Locked Tomb series, beginning with Gideon the Ninth, which won the Locus Award for Best First Novel and multiple other awards. Harrow the Ninth, the second volume, was a Locus Award finalist for Best Fantasy Novel in 2021. Born in Auckland, Muir began writing the Locked Tomb series as a fanfiction before it was published by Tordotcom. The series is celebrated for its genre-defying blend of necromancy, space opera, gothic horror, and queer romance—described as 'lesbian necromancers in space.' Gideon the Ninth and its sequels have developed a devoted international readership. She lives in New Zealand and continues to write the Locked Tomb series.
