About Seanan McGuire

Seanan McGuire is an extremely prolific American author of fantasy, horror, and science fiction who also writes urban fantasy as Mira Grant. She won the Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel for Middlegame (2020). McGuire is one of the most nominated and awarded authors in the history of the Hugo Awards. Born in 1978 in Martinez, California, McGuire writes multiple series simultaneously and is known for her extraordinary productivity. Her October Daye urban fantasy series, the InCryptid series, the Wayward Children series, and the Parasitology trilogy (as Mira Grant) are among her most celebrated works. Middlegame, a standalone novel about alchemy, identity, and immortal manipulation, was praised as her most ambitious and literary work. McGuire has won the Hugo Award for Best Novel (for A Psalm for the Wild-Built) and numerous other genre awards. She is openly non-binary and an advocate for LGBTQ+ representation in genre fiction.
