Ruta Sepetys

Ruta Sepetys is an American author specialising in historical fiction for young adults, often drawing on little-known episodes of twentieth-century history. Her Carnegie Medal-winning Salt to the Sea (2017) depicts the World War II sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff. She is of Lithuanian descent and lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
