About Roberto Bolaño
Roberto Bolaño (1953–2003) was a Chilean author widely regarded as one of the greatest Latin American writers of the 20th century. His posthumous novel *2666*, published in 2004, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction in 2008. Bolaño lived in exile in Spain for most of his adult life and died of liver failure in Barcelona. His other major novel, *The Savage Detectives*, won the Rómulo Gallegos Prize.
