About Rachel Kushner

Rachel Kushner is an American novelist born in Eugene, Oregon, in 1968. She grew up in San Francisco and studied at the University of California, Berkeley. Her debut novel Telex from Cuba (2008) was a finalist for the National Book Award. The Flamethrowers (2013) was a finalist for the National Book Award and named one of the best books of the year by numerous publications. The Mars Room (2018) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2018. Creation Lake (2024) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2024 and won the Kirkus Prize.
