Peter Gizzi

Peter Gizzi is an American poet and Professor of English at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He won the T.S. Eliot Prize in 2024 for Fierce Elegy (Penguin), a collection meditating on elegy, the natural world, and the crisis of language. He is known for his lyrical intensity and commitment to formal experimentation.
