About Nussaibah Younis

Nussaibah Younis is a British writer and academic who specialises in post-conflict reconstruction in the Middle East, particularly Iraq. She has worked with the United Nations and in policy roles. Her debut novel Fundamentally (2025) was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2025. The novel follows a British Muslim human rights lawyer who becomes entangled in the aftermath of the Islamic State. Younis holds a doctorate from Oxford University.
