About Mick Herron
Mick Herron is a British author best known for his Slough House spy thriller series, featuring the brilliantly conceived MI5 reject Jackson Lamb and his team of 'slow horses'—intelligence agents sidelined for mistakes or disloyalty. The series has been adapted into a critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series starring Gary Oldman. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Herron studied English Literature at Oxford and worked in publishing before becoming a full-time writer. He won the CWA Gold Dagger for Dead Lions (the second Slough House novel) in 2013. His work is celebrated for its dark wit, intricate plotting, and sharp satirical edge. The Slough House series, beginning with Slow Horses (2010), now comprises more than eight novels and multiple novellas. Herron is consistently shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger. He won the CWA Gold Dagger multiple times and is widely considered one of the most important British thriller writers of his generation.
