About Maggie Shipstead

Maggie Shipstead is an American novelist born in Orange County, California, in 1983. She graduated from Harvard College and the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Her debut novel Seating Arrangements (2012) won the Dylan Thomas Prize. Astonish Me (2014) was her second novel. Great Circle (2021) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2021 and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. It follows a female aviator in the twentieth century and a modern actress playing her in a film.
