About Louise Kennedy

Louise Kennedy is an Irish novelist and short story writer born in Holywood, County Down, in 1972. She worked as a chef for thirty years before publishing her debut short story collection The End of the World Is a Cul de Sac (2021), which won the Edge Hill Prize. Her debut novel Trespasses (2022) won the Books Are My Bag Readers Award for Fiction and was longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction and the Booker Prize 2023. It is set during the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
