Loretta Chase

Loretta Chase is an American romance novelist known for her Regency-set historical romances. She won the RITA Award multiple times and the Vivian Award for Best Long Historical Romance for Ten Things I Hate About the Duke (2021). She is considered one of the most skilled and celebrated voices in Regency romance. Chase studied English literature and is known for her witty dialogue, precisely researched historical detail, and psychologically complex protagonists. Her Lord of Scoundrels is frequently cited as one of the greatest romance novels ever written. The Difficult Dukes series, which includes Ten Things I Hate About the Duke, features intelligent, unconventional heroines navigating Regency society. She lives in New England.
