About Lavie Tidhar

Lavie Tidhar is an Israeli author of science fiction and fantasy who has lived in many countries including Israel, Vanuatu, Laos, and the United Kingdom. He won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel for Osama (2012), a novel in which Osama Bin Laden is a pulp fiction hero. He has also won the British Fantasy Award and the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize. Born in Israel in 1976, Tidhar grew up on a kibbutz. His fiction is marked by its literary ambition, global perspective, and willingness to engage with dark historical and political material. His novels include Central Station, A Man Lies Dreaming, By Force Alone, The Escapement, and many others. He is one of the most internationally oriented voices in speculative fiction and was editor of a landmark anthology of global SF. Tidhar currently lives in London.
