About Karen Russell
Karen Russell is an American author born in Miami, Florida, in 1981. She graduated from Northwestern University and Columbia University School of the Arts. Her debut novel Swamplandia! (2011) was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and won the New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award. She has published several short story collections including St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves (2006). The Antidote (2025) is her second novel. Russell received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2013.
