John Vaillant

John Vaillant is a Canadian-American author of nonfiction. His book Fire Weather: A True Story from a Hotter World won the Baillie Gifford Prize in 2023 and was also nominated for the National Book Award. He is known for The Tiger and The Golden Spruce.
