About Jason Reynolds
Jason Reynolds is an American author of novels and poetry for children and young adults who serves as the National Ambassador for Young People's Literature (2020–2022). His verse novel Long Way Down (2017) was a Coretta Scott King Honor Book, a Newbery Honor Book, and a National Book Award finalist. Twenty-Four Seconds from Now... (2024) won the Coretta Scott King Author Award. Reynolds is one of the most prolific and celebrated voices in YA literature. His work includes the Track series, All American Boys (co-authored with Brendan Kiely), Miles Morales: Spider-Man, and Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You (co-authored with Ibram X. Kendi), among many others. His work consistently engages with race, masculinity, grief, and the experience of Black boys and men in America. Reynolds was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Oxon Hill, Maryland. He has received honorary doctorates from several universities and is a prominent speaker on literacy and the importance of representation in children's literature.
