About Jane Harper

Jane Harper is an Australian crime fiction author known for her atmospheric mysteries set in the Australian landscape. She won the CWA Gold Dagger for The Dry (2017), her debut novel, which introduced federal agent Aaron Falk. The book was later adapted into a successful Australian film. Born in the UK and raised partly in Australia, Harper worked as a journalist before turning to fiction. The Dry is set during a drought in rural Victoria and explores the mystery of a farmer's apparent murder-suicide. It was a major bestseller and won multiple awards including the CWA Steel Dagger, the CWA Gold Dagger, and the Australian Book Industry Awards Crime Fiction Book of the Year. Her subsequent novels including Force of Nature, The Lost Man, The Survivors, and Exiles have all been bestsellers. Harper is widely regarded as one of the leading voices in Australian crime fiction and international crime writing more broadly.
