Eva Baltasar

Eva Baltasar is a Catalan poet and novelist born in Barcelona in 1978. Her debut novel *Permafrost* and her follow-up *Boulder*, shortlisted for the 2023 International Booker Prize, established her as a major voice in contemporary Catalan literature. Her writing is terse, visceral, and poetic in its exploration of female desire and freedom.
