Emil Ferris is an American author and illustrator who won the Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album – New in 2018 for My Favorite Thing Is Monsters (Fantagraphics), a visually stunning debut set in 1960s Chicago. Ferris drew the entire 400-page book with ballpoint pen while recovering from paralysis caused by West Nile virus.
