About Brandon Taylor

Brandon Taylor is an American writer born in Alabama in 1989. He studied biochemistry and creative writing, earning an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Real Life (2020) was his debut novel and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2020 and the Dylan Thomas Prize. Filthy Animals (2021), a short story collection, won the Story Prize. Taylor is senior editor at Subtropics and a contributing editor at The New Yorker.
