Avni Doshi

Avni Doshi is an American novelist of Indian heritage born in New Jersey in 1986. She grew up in Ohio and studied at the University of Pennsylvania and University College London. Her debut novel Girl in White Cotton (published as Burnt Sugar in the UK) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2020. Doshi lives in Dubai and her work explores mother-daughter relationships and identity in contemporary India.
