About Arundhati Roy

Arundhati Roy is an Indian author and activist born in Shillong, Meghalaya in 1961. She won the Booker Prize in 1997 for *The God of Small Things*. Her second novel, *The Ministry of Utmost Happiness*, published two decades later, was shortlisted for the 2017 NBCC Fiction Award. She is also celebrated for her political essays.
